He’s back!

After adding the phrase “A REWARD AWAITS YOU” on Gorky’s Missing poster … he’s back. And all the witnesses were right… he was with our not-so-nice neighbor all along. After all the denials and everything, they gave him up for the “reward”. He said sorry for not bringing him back because he went out-of-town… (yah right!). He also confesses that he didn’t want to bring Gorky back to us. It was his Dad who pushed him to do so. Bad neighbor, hmp! We just gave him the benefit of the doubt and thank him for taking care of him.

So what’s the reward? 6 kilos of seedless grapes. Good thing somebody gave dad those grapes as a gift … ano kami sira? Plot lang namin yun para maibalik niya sa amin si Gorky ng walang dahas (hahaha kala mo makikipag-away talaga) Buti kung di namin alam na sila nakakuha kay Gorky … eh kaso akala niya siguro pera. Serves him right. And besides, grapes are so expensive no!

We’re just glad we have Gorky again. Welcome back!

Someone is lost…

Yesterday, my brother found out that our garage gate was open. And somebody is missing … Gorky … our 1 year old male mini pincher. Thanks to our household help for being so irresponsible. She didn’t know the gate was open. We looked for him the whole night. Mini pinchers have this bad habit kasi na pag nakawala para silang preso na nakatakas sa kulungan. Takbo lang ng takbo ng walang direction. We made posters para just in case found eh tawagan kami. Then somebody knocked at our door. She claimed that she have seen Gorky at one of our neighbors house. As soon as we learned about it, nagpunta na kami hawak lahat ng documents just in case makita namin si Gorky dun at ayaw nila ibigay. Of course, they denied it. The other guy was so suspicious … he can’t even look me in the eye. Parang may tinatago. Umiiwas siya ng tingin. And we have no proof also that they have him besides the witness na di naman din namin pwede idiin sa kanila kasi kawawa din pag di totoo na nandun sa kanila. They’re one of the not so likeable neighbors here in our village. Sabi nga nila, bahala na si Lord sa kanila. Madali din naman kami kausap, kung ayaw na nila ibigay, better they take care of him. We are so missing him already. Duday (his mother) is quite sad but I know she’ll get over it. And we’re praying he’s in good hands (sana nga pero parang hindi, and feeling ko binenta na nila).

Sa sobrang inis ko nga, gusto ko gumawa ng essay type na flyers na i-didistribute ko sa buong village … all about respect … respect of one’s property … pag hindi sa iyo, isauli mo. I’m sure God will repay you 10 times pa. I’m so proud of how mom and dad brought us up. Never kami nang-angkin ng di sa amin. Pag may napulot kami isinasauli namin. Pag may sobrang sukli, binabalik namin. Kaya maganda ang good karma sa amin. And I thank the Lord for that. To Gorky, wherever you are, bumalik ka lang kung alam mo na bumalik ng bahay. Bahala na si Lord sa nakakuha sa iyo. We’re still hoping one of this days kakatok ka sa gate namin. hehehe!

2 days to go and we’re off to Baguio. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee … so excited already. Can’t wait to take shots using our new cam. Sad nga lang, hindi makakasama si Jason pag-akyat ng Baguio, he has to attend their UAP chapter’s camping in La Union. Pero susunod daw siya, he’ll just gonna miss the street dance on Saturday afternoon.

Pandesal

I’m sharing this recipe for everybody (especially to Weng, Cheche and Joanne). Actually, I was inspired to make a food blog of all my adventures in cooking and baking … hmmmm …. I’ll do that one of this days I got this recipe from The Best of Maya Kitchen: The Complete Guide to Baking. This book has been with me for I think 8 years already. This was given to me as a birthday gift. Happy baking everyone!

PANDESAL

Ingredients:
2 teaspoons yeast
1 1/2 cups of warm water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
4 1/2 cups sifted bread flour
breadcrumbs

DIRECTIONS:

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. In a bowl, combine the remaining water, sugar, salt and shortening. Add 4 cups of the flour and the yeast mixture. Mix well then transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Use the remaining flour for dusting the table and your hands if the dough gets sticky. Place dough on a greasedbowl, cover and let it rise until double in bulk. (1 hour)

Place risen dough on a floured surface. Flatten with your hands to form a rectangle about 16 x 3 inches. Starting at one end, roll up the dough with the right hand while sealing with the left hand to form a cylindrical strip of dough. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Let it rise for 15 to 20 mins. Cut the dough into pieces about 1 1/2 inch thick. Place in baking sheets cut side up. Let it rise util light. Bake at preheated 350 degrees F oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown

This recipe makes 2 - 3 dozens of pandesal.

TIPS:

Make sure you buy bread flour (not all purpose flour) Maganda yung softness nung bread … pero habang tumatagal parang ang tigas na niya … I can’t seem to find breadflour in the supermarket kasi. pero wag ka, masarap pa din. In my case kasi, di siya tumagal ng isang araw … di ko alam kung gutom silang lahat nung kinain nila to o masarap talaga siya.

If you want to have an instant cheese pandesal, before rolling it to a cylindrical strip of dough, sprinkle grated cheese on it. Cheddar cheese would do.

If you already cut the dough into pieces, don’t knead it again or else it won’t rise anymore.

I am not…

… pregnant! I won’t tell you the details how they told us but we decided to change our OB for the fact she doesn’t know the difference between menstruation period and early pregnancy sign. We’ll just enjoy life as it is, waiting for our little angel to come. Enough of the professional medical help for a while because it’s only 4 months since we got married … and just wait until a year or so. Nothing is wrong with me, it’s just that my I have an irregular mentruation cycle. Medyo mahirap lang sa timing kung kailan ang fertility period. I think it’s time to buy ovulation kits. Thanks to all who reads my blog na super concern, mwah! Really appreciate it sobra!

While reading my mails, I came across this email that Ms. Benz and Mr. John sent out in the W@wie community. It’s about Lea Salonga’s wedding song for his husband Robert Chen. It’s included in her album called Inspired. The song I was pertaining to is Two Words. Bigla nanaman nag-flashback ang wedding moments namin ni Jason. So touching, you should hear it.

Last Saturday, we went to the mall to buy a new cam. We’re planning to buy a Canon 400D, but due to budget contraint, dad bought the Canon Powershot S3 IS. Goodbye to DSLR for me … maybe next time when I’m really capable of buying one. Until now ginagamay ko pa siya … but I love it’s features. I can’t wait to use it in Baguio this weekend.

False Alarm na nga yata …

It’s not confirmed yet… but I’ve been bleeding for 3 days now. Menstruation flow bleeding I mean … I hope it’s not miscarriage. My 2nd transvaginal ultrasound would be in Feb. 21 pa. So by that time pa malalaman if I am pregnant or not. Complete bed rest ang sabi ni dok. But I’ve been lying in our bed for 2 days already and the bleeding keeps on going. If it’s threaten abortion, it should stop once you’re rested and not moving frequently. My OB told me it might be mentruation but still obserbahan ko daw. Sayang naman kung buntis na pala ako tapos nakunan ako. All test tells us I’m negative, even sa ultrasound. Kaya I’m pretty sure again I’m not pregnant. Nawiwindang lang talaga ako minsan sa OB ko kasi hoping pa rin siya na I might be pregnant eh ramdam ko naman na wala. Napapraning tuloy ako.

She gave me this testing pill called Duphaston … it’s also what they prescribe to pregnant women para pampakapit. 2 weeks ko siya ititake … so by next week pa dapat ako mag-bleed or mag menstruation. Kaso biglaan eh 1 week palang nag-bleed na ako. Maybe because napagod ako sa pag-bake ng pandesal. OO, pandesal … makulit ang nanay ko. Gumawa daw ako ng pandesal. Eh di gumawa naman ako … after ko matapos yun, ayun nag-bleed na ako. ewan ko kung timing lang or whatsoever. She cheked my cervix, intact naman, di naman daw bumuka. Mahaba nga daw (ang ano?) and she looks at my blood sabi niya malabnaw naman daw yung blood. Kaya nag-complete bed rest ako. Pero last night, malakas yung flow … siyempre 2nd day na, usually pag 2nd day of mentruation, heavy flow period talaga yun. I prayed to God, sabi ko “Lord, if this is not a threaten abortion sign, please let me sleep” after nun nakatulog na ako. So may feeling talaga ako na hindi ako pregnant. It’s just my menstruation.

Well I guess better luck next time nanaman kami ni Jason. Hehehe … sabi ko nga sa kanya wag na natin masyado i-pressure yung pagkakaroon ng baby para makabuo na tayo hehehe. Kaya ngayon sinusunod nalang muna namin lahat ng bilin ng OB ko. Jason is scheduled for sperm analysis tomorrow. Buti nalang nakiki-cooperate ang my labs ko. Akala ko nga hindi papayag eh. You know naman mga guys …

How’s your Valentine’s day nga pala? Kami we just celebrate it at home with a heart shape cake and Max’s fried chicken Fiesta Platter hehehe! Iwas traffic pa di ba. We never celebrate naman talaga on the day itself. It’s either before or after Feb. 14. Excited nga din ako this coming Saturday. Dad told me he wanted to buy a camera for our Baguio trip. Baka mabola ko to buy the Canon 400D … sana sana sana …

Got a new haircut again … and I love my hair this short because it’s wash and wear … pag sinipag sa pag blower sandali lang ok na siya. Unlike pag long hair matagal siya i-blower.

Yup, I made this pandesal … sabi nila ok daw sa lasa … walang bromite hahaha! yummy! ANg hirap lang mag-knead ng bread. Kaya siguro ako nag-bleeding huhuhu!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

False Alarm … but not quite…

I went to my OB-Gyne yesterday. I have an inflammation in my vaginal wall. She prescribed me a 1 week medication to cure it. And naglabas na siya ng EPT kit niya to checked if I’m pregnant or not (delayed pa din kasi ako), the EPT kit went negative (one line only). So I felt bad again. Waaaaaaaah … was hoping this time I am pregnant. She asked me to have a transvaginal ultrasound, CBC and Urinalysis. So I went to ACE Diagnostics to have those procedure. In an hour I got the results. Still, I’m negative waaaaah! Sometimes daw kasi hindi nadedetect ng EPT na your pregnant. Pero pag ultrasound nakikita. Eh kaso lumabas negative pa din. I texted Mom, Dad, Kuya Stan and Jason about it. And they said “nyek!!!” hahaha!

I went to my OB-Gyne again to give her the results. She told me that according to my ultrasound result, i have thickened endometrium. She told me na dalawa lang daw reason nun… either expected I’ll be having my period anytime soon or it’s an early sign of pregnancy. She gave me a medicine to correct my irregular menstrual period. And prescribed herbal supplements for my vitamins. Have you heard of Pearlin and Nutrifresh from Excel? Yun kasi binigay niya sa akin eh. She attended kasi yung seminar nun. Kaya yun daw binibigay niya sa mga patients niya.

Sabi niya, after a week if I still don’t have my period, bumalik ako sa kanya and bibigyan niya ako ng another request to have another transvaginal ultrasound. Kasi daw baka masyado pa maliit yung baby namin nung nagpa-ultrasound ako kaya wala nakita. Kasi sabi ni dok, today is my 5th week of pregnancy kung buntis ako. So by next week, I’ll be in my 6th week, baka makakita na daw ng sac sa loob ng tummy ko. Waaaa sana nga … konting dasal pa talaga. I haven’t told Jason that there’s still hope. Mamaya nalang pag-uwi niya. Tinutukso na nga nila ako dito sa bahay, kasama na si Jason kasi daw di daw kami makabuo hahaha! Sabi nga ni Dad, “Relax lang kasi mga anak, baka nape-pressure kayo masyado” … heller Dad … matagal na kaming pressured hahaha!

We’re slightly productive

Jason have been busy for days now. Pina-subcon kasi kay Jason ni Ma’am Jeanne (one of our Ninang) yung renovation ng office ni “FG” sa Makati. Yup … the First Gentleman’s office. They have only given 10 days for the construction. And tomorrow is their last day. One reason I’ll be sleeping alone (again) in our room coz he needs to stay overnight sa site to see to it that everything is under control. And on March, Jason will have a 10-month contract as Project Manager. Site is in Capitol Hills, malapit lang dito sa Fairview, mga 20-30mins drive. God really loves us. Are you asking me if I already have a job? Don’t ask … nobody’s paying attention to my resume hahaha! Last week I send out 10 resume to 10 companies. Until now, no reply hahaha!

I’m sure I’ll gonna miss Jason tonight. He always pray while holding my tummy na sana may baby na kami. I know he never forgets to pray for us naman. Kahit wala siya dito sa bahay eh pinagdadasal niya pa rin ang baby na inaasam-asam na namin.

Yesterday, I went to visit an OB-Gyne to seek medical help. Somethings bothering me for 3 days now “down there”. I had a pap smear and God that’s so painful pero tolerable. Or maybe I’m just not used to it. Well I have to if I wanted to have a baby hehehe. This is not the first time a doctor will examine me. I’m sure marami pang beses lalo na while conceiving di ba? But the key mom told me about pap smear is to just relax para daw walang sakit. And I did … naku naisip ko tuloy yung raspa … waaaaa! Results will be on Monday. Hope it’s not that serious. On Monday, if I still don’t have my period, I’ll gonna have a pregnancy test with her. Oh I’m so excited. I wish this time may nabuo na. Wish us luck
