Baby “J” at 20 weeks

On Wednesday, baby “J” is already 5 months old weeeee! 4 months to go. Everyday, Jason and I are getting excited. Baby “J” is now starting to do its acrobatic tricks. Too bad, di pa siya nafi-feel ni Jason even if he puts his hand on my tummy ng matagal. Pero nafi-feel niya yung pintig, but the kick itself, ako palang nakakaramdam. On my 23rd week, I’m scheduled to have a congenital ultrasound. OB wants to check every detail of baby “J” body parts. I’m so excited about this one… this time, Jason will come along with me during the ultrasound. Before kasi nasa labas lang siya ng room, ngayon papayagan na siya makapasok.

I could now feel my tummy’s getting bigger. And I gained 3 kilos during the holidays huhuhuhu! Blame those lechon and sweets last Christmas. My neck and armpit’s getting darker… kainis! Sabi sa baby book … blame it on the hormones … it will go away naman daw after giving birth. Kaso yung sa akin parang feeling ko kailangan na ng professional help para mawala hehehehe!

According to babycenter.com:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel โ€” the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, we use measurements taken from the top of the baby’s head to her bottom โ€” known as the “crown to rump” measurement. After that, we use measurements from head to toe. This is because a baby’s legs are curled up against her torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.)

A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats her entire body to protect her skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. (This slick coating also eases the journey down the birth canal.)

Your baby is swallowing more, which is good practice for her digestive system. She’s also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance that’s the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid. This meconium will accumulate in her bowels, and you’ll see it in her first messy diaper (although a few babies pass it in utero or during delivery).

Jason and I plans to shop for baby stuff on my 7th month. At least that time daw we know the baby’s gender already and we’re still waiting for my tita’s balikbayan box for me coming this month. She told me that she bought lots of baby stuffs, so I have to check kung ano kulang. Menos gastos di ba? hehehe!

As for you baby “J”, ok lang maging malikot pero wag masyado ok? Mom’s getting worried when you overdo your acrobatic moves. And sana this time, you let Daddy feel you, you really do love playing hide and seek huh?

  6. Anne! ok na ok yung medela, promise! ๐Ÿ™‚ of course, capable ka mag-breastfeed. ๐Ÿ™‚ you will need a pump naman if you’re out and not with your baby. para breastmilk pa rin iinumin niya. sige dear, just inform me ha! ingat kayo! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. hmm…basta malakas ang pakiramdam ko..baby J is a boy. hehe! ingatz ka din buntis!

  8. @ Earthlotus and Vanessa, thanks so much and happy new year!

@ Mai, sis ako din feeling ko talaga it’s a boy but Jason keeps on insisting that it’s a girl wahahaha! di bale, 2 weeks to go malalaman na namin yung gender hihihi.

  9. wow sobrang nae-excite ako para sayo! naalala ko when i was carrying Mia ๐Ÿ™‚ naku iwasan mo na ang mga salty, processed, at oily foods. mahirap na, for health purposes na din, diba?
